Hungary and Poland
with The Compass
Join The Compass, the award winning Catholic newspaper of the Diocese of Green Bay, WI, on an amazing journey to Hungary and Poland. Learn about the origins of our Faith in Central Europe and how these Christians heroically defended our Faith against invading forces. Visits in Hungary include Budapest (Gellert Hill, St. Stephen's Basilica, Fisherman's Bastion, St. Mathias, Heroes Square, Danube Cruise), Mariaremette (Marian Shrine), Lazar Equestrian Farm and much more. In Poland, we visit the rebuilt Capital of Warsaw and the gorgeous old Royal Capital of Krakow! We also visit the City of the Immaculate of St. Maximilian Kolbe (Niepokalanow) as well as the place of his martyrdom (Auschwitz). Enter St. John Paul's apartment at his birthplace in Wadowice, and see his Baptismal Font at the Basilica there. Descend thousands of feet to witness the spectacular art inside Salt Mines of Wieliczka! Pray Divine Mercy Chaplet at the tomb of St. Faustina at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Lagiewniki. Also in Lagiewniki is the new amazing complex called The St. John Paul II Center. You can't go to Poland without visiting your mother! That's why we go to Czestochowa, home of the Monastery in Jasna Gora, housing the famous Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa!
If you ever wanted to see the "Blue Danube" and the magnificent beauty and amazing history and strong Faith found in these places, then say yes! Come join us on this unforgettable pilgrimage!
